Castleton Christmas Light Switch-on 2022
Castleton’s spectacular display of Christmas spirit will be kicked off on Saturday 19th November with the return of the annual lights switch on.
Three Roofs Café will once again be opening late to provide a retreat from the elements - offering hot and cold food and drinks, perfectly situated opposite the Castleton Visitor Centre at the end of the main road of festivities. The team will be in fancy dress and will be serving Yorkshire Pudding Turkey Wraps, Mulled Wine and Hot Chocolates from our outside stall.
The Castleton lights switch on includes a Castleton School Christmas Fayre, Christmas Tree Festival at ST Edmund's Church and Santa's Grotto, all just a stone’s throw away from the Three Roofs.
With the switch on itself happening at 4:30pm, the village does tend to get very busy, so we do recommend arriving early. There are plenty of activities to keep the whole family entertained.
Over the festive season there will be Santa’s Grotto and Carol Concerts taking place in Castleton, as well as special events in the Caverns, a Craft Market at Hollowford Centre on Saturday 3 December, and the beautiful Christmas Tree Festival at St Edmunds Church from Saturday 19 November to Saturday 17 December.
Ahead of your visit you can find the Three Roofs Café menu here. Hope to see you for the Castleton Christmas light switch-on!
